Breathing

It's easy to breathe. One of the few natural instincts of every single living thing in the world. When were running, quick short breaths to get more oxygen. When were sleeping, slow drawn-out breaths that relax the body. In between, easy unrecognizable breaths... in... out... in... out... But what about the times that take our breath away? The birth of a baby as they take their first. The perfect gift at Christmas. Little things you don't even realize make you happy. Until there gone. Under water, you can't breathe. High elevation, you can't breathe. The whole world is the soap opera of not taking things for granted and such, but what about the most important. Who you are. When you lose who you are, the one thing you have that is you, life is meaningless. Instead of realizing who you have with you, the changes your life goes through, take a breath and realize who you have become. Not who you were, or want to be. Who you have become.

The Rain

For some, the rain is a blessing. For others, the rain is a bother. Out here, it's both. I love the smell of the incoming rain, the clouds rolling in and the thunder singing softly in the distance. The lightning throws beautiful colors into the night sky, sending chills down my back. Only downside, the mud. We moved into this house not too long ago, with high expectations for the landscape and future developments, only to find out that when even the sprinklers come on, the entire backyard turns into the bottom of a lake. But I'm not complaining. The main problem I have is getting out of the driveway without four-wheel drive. But back to the rain. It kind of relates a little to life. Every now and again, life is a blessing. Something you treasure and crave when your grass isn't too green or your well is running dry. Other days it's just a bother. Pointless and routine and seemingly to no end. The well is running over and your yard is flooded, and the only thing you can think about is how to get rid of this Cabin Fever. What we need to do is learn to take this "rain" to our advantage. Take time with the family, do something spontaneous, dance in the rain. Sometimes all anyone really needs is to take a little dance. But remember, if your ever gonna compare the rain to life, you have to take into consideration that at one time, the rain was cow urine. :)

In the Beginning

Through the course of time, the meaning of life has changed between generations, genders, races, and species. Every meaning has one thing in common. To be happy. To be successful and provide for the ones they love in the way they were meant to. Inside those ever-changing meanings, differences collide in a splash of color of experiences and upbringing. This is my life in a nutshell. Just trying to figure out who I'm supposed to be, before the world decides for me. At this point in time, to me, the meaning of life is to make at least one person smile everyday. Some days this doesn't seem like enough, but other days it's like counting the stars in the sky, or throwing rain drops back into the clouds. Life throws curve balls, rise balls, and fast pitches, but the main thing to remember is to take everything in stride. To be successful, all you really need is two things, Confidence, and Humility. The confidence to do what you know, humility to admit your wrong, and confidence to try again. The one who knows how, will have a good job. The one who knows why, will be his boss.
